How to Install TWRP Recovery and Root for All Android Devices: A Guide

What is TWRP?

TWRP stands for Team Win Recovery. The Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) is open-source software and custom recovery images for Android-based devices. It provides a touchscreen-enabled interface that allows users to install third-party firmware and back up the current system, which often functions unsupported by stock recovery images. Your device must have the bootloader unlocked. Install TWRP Recovery on your smartphone, and it’s easy to root and unroot your device.

Basic Pre-Requirements

  1. Enable USB debugging on your smartphone.
  2. Turn on ADB and fastboot
  3. Unlock the bootloader of your smartphone by following this guide.

How to Install TWRP on a Smartphone

  1. First, switch off your smartphone.
  2. Open your mobile boot
  3. Power off your device and then hold the Volume Down + Power button.
  4. Now, open the ADB folder on your PC and laptop.
  5. Then, select the address bar in the ADB file.
  6. Type Cmd and hit the Enter button.
  7. Type the command in cmd. (Inside “Filename,” you can drag the file directly to CMD instead of typing.)

How to root a smartphone?

There are two methods to root your smartphone.

  • By using SuperSU Zip
  • By using the download magick zip

Using SuperSU Zip

  1. Download SuperSU Zip, Download No Verity Opt encrypt.zip, and Move to Mobile Storage.
  2. Then switch on your phone.
  3. Turn on recovery mode (hold the Volume Down + Power button).

  6. TWRP Recovery: Select Install
  7. Then browse and select the saved file from SuperSU Zip.
  8. Now click the Install button.
  9. Go again to the install button, then browse and install No Verity opt encrypt.zip and confirm the installation.
  10. Finally, reboot your device.
  11. Congratulations! You have successfully rooted your device.

By using the download magick zip

  1. Download Magisk Zip, Download No Verity Opt encrypt.zip, and Move to Mobile Storage.
  2. Then switch on your phone.
  3. Turn on recovery mode (hold the Volume Down + Power button).
  4. TWRP Recovery: Select Install
  5. Then browse and select the saved file from SuperSU Zip.
  6. Now click the Install button.
  7. Go again to the install button, then browse and install. No verification, opt for encrypt.zip, and confirm the installation.
  8. Finally, reboot your device.
  9. Congratulations! You have successfully rooted your device.
