This is one of the most important questions among buyers: which one is best? In this article, you are going to find out which device is clearly made for you. Not to mention, every individual has their own set of priorities when purchasing a smartphone.
Pros and cons
The primary question is: should you consider spending an additional 6,000 rupees on the Samsung Galaxy A52s or the OnePlus Nord 2? It is obvious that both OEMs have their own set of pros and cons. Samsung uses the Samsung Caller when you can record calls without hinting at end users about it, but OnePlus uses Google Dialer, which means it lets end users know about it.
Therefore, OnePlus has an alert slider, which is unique to OnePlus. The Galaxy A52s comes with a 3.5mm audio jack, but OnePlus didn’t have one. Samsung also bundled features like Knox Security, and there is no such thing in OnePlus. Both have career acceleration and offer 4G+ connectivity and stereo speakers, but we think the stereo speaker on the Nord 2 is far better.
Camera Comparison
Samsung Galaxy A52s | OnePlus Nord 2 |
---|---|
64MP, OIS, PDAF (f/1.8, 0.8µm) | 50MP Sony IMX 766, OIS (f/1.88, 1.0μm) |
12MP ultra-wide (f/2.2, 1.12µm) | 8MP ultra-wide (f/2.25, 119.7-degree FOV) |
5MP macro (f/2.4) | 2MP monochrome lens (f/2.5) |
5MP depth (f/2.4) | |
32MP front (f/2.2, 0.8µm) | 32MP front IMX615 (f/2.5) |
Colours are more natural, contrast is better, and image processing is better on the Galaxy A52 compared to the OnePlus Nord 2. On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord 2 performs better in low-light conditions and has good rear video recording capabilities. You can shoot 4K at 30 fps video alongside OIS support. Apart from the higher- pixels, the Galaxy A52s comes with a 64MP quad camera and the Nord 2 with a 50MP triple camera. Both have a 32MP selfie shooter; however, the Galaxy A52s seems to be more optimised compared to the Nord 2.
Display Comparison
Samsung Galaxy A52s | OnePlus Nord 2 |
---|---|
6.5-in. Super AMOLED with punch-hole | 6.43-inch Fluid AMOLED with punch-hole |
1080 x 2400 pixels | 1080 x 2400 pixels |
~405 pixels per inch | ~409 pixels per inch |
20:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate | 20:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate |
As most of you already expected, the Galaxy A52s are more usable in outdoor conditions and brighter. There is not a big difference, but you get equal experience and no such brightness difference during indoor conditions. Likewise, there is a massive difference between refresh rates, but as usual, you won’t feel that way. Each device has an in-display fingerprint scanner, and both seem to be accurate and snappy.
Performance
Samsung Galaxy A52s | OnePlus Nord 2 |
---|---|
Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G | Mediatek Dimensity 1200 AI |
Adreno 642L | Mali-G77 MC9 GPU |
6/8GB RAM | 6/8/12GB RAM |
128/256GB storage | 128/256GB storage |
Starting with both devices having 5G support, Nord 2 has 9 and 12 bands supported on Galaxy A52s. When it comes to performance, there is a slightly inconsistent performance on the OnePlus Nord 2, but you get a constant performance in the Galaxy A52s. When it comes to performance, the Galaxy A52s, especially for gaming, have little difference in performance.
Quality
Samsung Galaxy A52s | OnePlus Nord 2 |
---|---|
Glass front (Gorilla Glass 5), plastic back | Gorilla Glass 5 (front and back), plastic mid-frame |
159.9 x 75.1 x 8.4 mm | 158.9 x 73.2 x 8.25mm |
189g | 189g |
IP67 dust/water resistant | Splash resistant |
The OnePlus Nord 2 feels more premium compared to the Galaxy A52s, as it has a curved screen and has glass. Therefore, the Galaxy A52 doesn’t feel like a premium, hence its polycarbonate.
Battery
Samsung Galaxy A52s | OnePlus Nord 2 |
---|---|
Li-Po 4500 mAh, non-removable | Li-Po 4,500mAh battery, non-removable |
15W bundled in the box, 25W support | Warp Charge 65W wired charging, 1-100% in 30 min |
No wireless charging |
Sadly, Galaxy supports 25W, but they bundled a 15W charger in the box, and it almost takes more than 1.5 hours. We highly recommend the OnePlus Nord 2 in this category; hence, it comes bundled with 65W wireless charging out of the box and almost takes 30 minutes to complete charging the device.
Verdict
The OnePlus Nord 2 is worth the 30K price bracket, but if your priority is camera and gaming performance, then you should consider buying the Galaxy A52s.
