YouTube Music now allows its users to create custom radio stations. This feature is available on both Android and iOS. With this feature, users can create their personalized radio stations on the YouTube Music app based on their favorite artists and tracks. Previously, YouTube Music played a radio station when the current listening track ended. The next song would start in the “Up Next” section, and there was also an option to save the radio as a regular playlist. However, giving users the option to create their radio station from scratch gives more flexibility to YouTube Music users.
Users can personalize their radio station based on their choice of artist, music genre, or style of music. Users have the option to select up to 30 artists and add variety to their radio station to play music, listen to, or share. After you pick the artists for your YouTube Music radio, you have several options to give your radio a unique taste by selecting options such as artist variety, and song selection, which includes familiar, blended, or discovered—these are sure to broaden the flavor. Lastly, there is a filter option that includes popular, deep cuts, new releases, pump-up, chill, upbeat, downbeat, and focuses.
You might encounter an error with a display message saying “No Song to Play” if the selection combination creates no radio for you. Once you finish creating a playlist, you will now have an updated radio with a new layout and a name based on the artist or features of the playlist.
You can also manually save the radio using the “Add to Library” button that appears next to the play button in the app. So, if you want to create a YouTube Music radio again, you can go back to the home feed and scroll down until you find the “Create a Radio” option, which is also labeled “YouTube Music Tuner.”
