How to hide the WhatsApp channel on Android and iOS

Despite the accessibility and ease of use, many users have found this annoying and unnecessary, which is why many want to disable this feature on their WhatsApp.

Use an older version of WhatsApp.

If you permanently want to disable or hide the WhatsApp channel, you can start using the previous version of WhatsApp. By reverting to the previous version of WhatsApp, you will have the old interface since WhatsApp doesn’t have the Channels feature in that version.

In case you haven’t updated yet, you shouldn’t do so as long as you want to keep using the channel feature. Alternatively, you can uninstall your current WhatsApp and reinstall WhatsApp v2.23.18.75. However, before proceeding, make sure to take a backup of your WhatsApp data by navigating to WhatsApp > From the upper-right corner > Settings > Chats > Chat Backup > Backup. Once you have completed your backup, reinstall WhatsApp and recover the data to continue using WhatsApp.

How to Hide WhatsApp Channels on Android

If you don’t want to uninstall the current version or want to downgrade WhatsApp, you can hide the channel temporarily, which is still a viable solution. You can easily close the channel using the option in Update. However, you need to hide the channel every time since it expands by default and doesn’t remember the last action you performed.

  • Open WhatsApp.
  • Go to Updates in the bottom navigation.
  • Tap on View Updates.

This will expand the channel, and it is the only temporary solution that you can do.

How to Hide WhatsApp Channels on iOS

Unlike Android, you can’t revert to the previous version because of the strict security parameters, but you can hide the WhatsApp channels on iOS, similar iOS.

  • Open WhatsApp.
  • Tap on Updates in the bottom navigation.
  • Next, tap View Updates.

Both on Android and iOS, there are similar issues. You have to repeat the process every single time. You can’t completely disable the WhatsApp channel, but you can hide it.
