We have tried to cover everything from the Apple Event; let’s see what Apple brings against the competition. Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi have all set the bar very high for other flagship smartphones, which are said to be almost twice the innovation from then compared to Apple, Samsung, and Google. Let’s take what you need to know and get straight to the point. What’s the major update to the Watch Series 10 and iPhone 16 Series?

Apple Watch Series 10

The Series 10 showcases a stunning display, 40% brighter when viewed at an angle, and is encased in durable Ion-X glass. It’s thinner, too—measuring just 9.7 mm, making it 10% slimmer than its predecessor, the Series 9. It is a lightweight aluminium alloy case available in Jet Black, Warm Rose Gold, and Silver. Plus, it’s 10% lighter, thanks to premium materials like Grade 5 titanium in the Signature Apple Titanium Series 10.

Redesigned Digital Crown and smaller speakers—now 30% more compact—without compromising sound quality. The watch remains water-resistant up to 50 meters, making it perfect for all your adventures. And with the fastest charging ever in an Apple Watch, you can go from 0% to 80% battery in just 30 minutes, providing up to 18 hours of use on a single charge.

The Series 10 is not just about aesthetics; it’s also packed with advanced health features. Powered by the new custom Apple Silicon S10 chip with a 4-core neural engine, it excels at crash and fall detection tasks. WatchOS 11 introduces Smart Stack, a new Photo Face, a Translate app, and enhanced health monitoring features. The watch can help detect sleep apnoea, notify you every 30 days if it detects symptoms, and assist in managing Type 2 diabetes and cardiac issues. These features will be available at the end of the fall and will also come to the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Series 9. Starting at $399, the Apple Watch Series 10 is set to redefine what we expect from wearable tech.

Apple Watch Ultra 2

Whether looking for the most accurate GPS in a sports watch or the latest health and safety features, the Apple Watch Series 10 has something for everyone. The Apple Watch Ultra 2, available in Natural and Black finishes, offers even more for those seeking adventure, with offline maps, enhanced GPS accuracy, and a rugged new band. Tim Cook introduced the highly anticipated AirPods 4 during the latest Apple Event, marking a significant upgrade in Apple’s wireless earbud lineup. These AirPods have been refined with a design that naturally sits in your ear, ensuring comfort and style in every use.

Powered by the new H2 chip, the AirPods 4 deliver an unmatched audio experience with their advanced acoustic architecture. This new design enhances bass in an open-ear format, offering a richer and fuller sound. The personalised spatial audio feature adapts to your head movements, allowing you to nod to answer or decline Siri announcements—a futuristic touch that enhances usability.

AirPods 4 introduces voice isolation technology, significantly reducing background noise and ensuring your voice comes through clearly on calls. A quick press now lets you mute or end calls easily, adding convenience to your daily interactions.

The updated charging case now includes a USB-C port, making the AirPods 4 the most portable, with up to 30 hours of total battery life. The AirPods 4 has Active Noise Cancellation, adaptive audio, and transparency mode for those who demand even more. These features work together to reduce environmental noise, seamlessly lower media volume during conversations, and enhance it once you’re done talking. The AirPods 4 with ANC also support wireless charging through Qi-certified chargers and are fully integrated with the Find My app for added security.

Starting at $179, the AirPods 4 offer exceptional value with enhanced features and sleek design. The AirPods Max, now available in new colours like Midnight, Blue, Purple, Orange, and Starlight, continues to deliver premium sound quality with added USB Type-C support. The AirPods with ANC, with a price tag of $549, include new health capabilities like hearing loss prevention and a hearing test feature through the iPhone, ensuring your auditory health is prioritised.

What Major Update Apple Brings with Series 10, Ultra 2, and iPhone 16 Series

Apple has finally introduced the customisable Action Button on the iPhone 16. This feature provides quick access to the camera and other functions. The camera system has seen major improvements, including a 48MP primary camera that captures 24MP images by default. This is complemented by a 12MP ultra-wide lens with an autofocus option that also helps with the Macro-Shots and 4K video recording capability at 120 frames per second (fps).

Camera Control

  • Hold: open camera
  • Click: Take a photo.
  • Hold again: video recording
  • Light click: Camera functions, like zoom
  • Slide: zoom, change exposure, etc.

Spatial videos and photos are now possible and designed for immersive experiences with Apple Vision Pro. The Camera Capture button has haptic feedback, which you can use for precise control, whether focusing, zooming, or capturing that perfect shot. Until now, there wasn’t any option to pause the video recording, but now you can pause it.

Under the hood, the iPhone 16 is powered by the Apple A18 chip, based on a 3 nm 2nd Gen architecture. This includes a 6-core CPU with 2 performance and 4 efficiency cores, making it 30% faster than its predecessor while using 20% less power. The new 5-core GPU also supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing, delivering 5x higher frame rates than software-based solutions. This makes the iPhone 16 capable of running AAA games with ease. Now, we are adding “Honour of Kings: World,” which joins the library of titles like “Resident Evil 7 Biohazard” and “Assassin’s Creed Mirage.”

The thermal design has been revamped with a new sub-structure that dissipates heat 30% more effectively, ensuring sustained performance even during intense tasks. Apple continues to prioritise user safety with features like Live Video SOS for 911 calls and roadside assistance via iMessage in the US and Canada. The iPhone 16 is available at the same price: $799 for the base model and $899 for the iPhone 16 Plus. Apple’s trade-in program offers exceptional value, making upgrading easier than ever.

It uses a private cloud computing system, ensuring your data is never stored and is only used when you give explicit consent. Features like the new Compose Writing Tool allow you to rewrite text on the go, while the Relive Memories tool can create videos from your photo library, making sharing moments effortlessly. With iOS 18, Apple has also revamped the Photos app, added customisable pins, and improved the cleanup tool, making photo management easier.

The new 48MP second-generation Quad-Pixel camera supports ProRAW and HEIF photos, and the 5x telephoto lens provides unmatched optical zoom capabilities.

The Pro Series also introduces advanced media features, including 4K video recording at 120 fps and slow-motion capabilities, making it a dream for content creators. Audio has been upgraded, too, with four studio-quality microphones that enable spatial audio capture and enhanced voice memos. This year, the iPhone 16 Pro Max takes 5 minutes longer to charge than the iPhone 15 Pro Max because of the battery.

The iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999, with the Pro Max at $1,199. Apple’s trade-in program offers up to $1,999 off, making getting your hands on the latest tech easier.
