Hey there! I’ve got some exciting news for all the Samsung enthusiasts out there. Samsung has rolled out a new Dex Home and System UI update with the June 2023 update. This update is available on Galaxy Note and Tab devices. If you haven’t updated your Samsung Dex yet, now’s the time! Just head over to Device Settings, select Samsung Dex, and then choose About Samsung Dex. Unfortunately, this feature isn’t available on Samsung smartphones, mainly for the upper-mid-range and high-end segments.

What’s Dex?

So, what’s Dex, you ask? Dex is a platform that lets you extend your mobile device to a larger screen. Imagine connecting your smartphone or tablet to a monitor, TV, or PC (both Windows and macOS) and using different apps simultaneously on your mobile device. It offers a powerful desktop experience, making it a fantastic alternative to Chromebooks. You can open multiple windows, drag and drop, and right-click for more functions. Plus, you can use a touch screen, S Pen, USB or Bluetooth mouse, and keyboard cover.

What’s new in the update?

With the latest update, you’ll get bug fixes and expected improvements. The update will roll out gradually to eligible Galaxy devices, and you can expect it if you’re running Android 13.0-based One UI 5.0 or higher. Here are the details:

  • Dex Home Build 3.0.11.25: Rolled out with a package size of 12.49 MB.
  • Dex System UI 3.0.01.21: Rolled out with a package size of 6.86 MB.

How to Enable Samsung’s Dex Feature

  1. Connect Your Device: First, connect your Galaxy device to your smart monitor using a USB-C to HDMI cable or a Dex Station.
  2. Select Input Source: Next, select the input source and screen mirror using the remote control.
  3. Open Quick Menu: On your device, open the Quick Menu and press the Dex option, where you have the option for Dex on TV or Monitor.
  4. Choose a Smart Monitor: Look for the intelligent monitor you want to connect with. You should see the Dex logo on your smart monitor, which should work correctly.
  5. Add Accessories: For a desktop-like experience, add a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse or use your mobile device as a touch screen.

So, what do you think? Are you excited about the new Dex update? Let me know in the comments!
