Realme U1 launched a couple of weeks ago. It has a 25MP selfie camera and a MediaTek Helio P70. If we see the specs on paper, it looks quite awesome, but after testing the device, it has some major issues. Let’s take a look and find out what reality is behind it.
First things first, the screen of the device attracted a lot of attention due to Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Also, the device screen doesn’t have an oleophobic coating, which helps you move your finger on the display smoothly. So you should use a screen protector. The design of the device is similar to Realme 2 Pro. The screen is not too bad; it has an impressive display.
Realme U1: Our Opinion: Why You Shouldn’t Buy This
The rear body is made up of polycarbonate, which looks premium in the hands. During real-time performance, the MediaTek P70 is quite similar to the MediaTek P60, while the P70 is an improved version and overclocked, which makes it more stable. Also, the 3000mAh battery is disappointing if we look at other real devices, and there is no fast charging, which makes it more disappointing.
The detail in the rear camera is not as good as in the front camera. The rear camera can’t perform during low-light conditions, which makes noise in the image during low-light conditions. It has a very awesome optimisation in the front camera. But the front and rear cameras both have wrong edge detection, which makes the portrait mode image worse and doesn’t have EIS.
As this device runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based Colour OS Skin, not to mention, it is quite impressive in some areas, but on the dark side, as the frame drops such things multiple times. Realme offers great sound quality in their handset and hands-free too.
Realme introduced two variants of devices: 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. The price is not acceptable considering these issues. But it is a decent smartphone. But the Realme 2 Pro is a better alternative from the same company if you don’t need a selfie-centric smartphone. Tell us what you think of this device. Let us know in the comment section below.
