If you have been planning to purchase Realme 10 Pro, we have three points to share with you as to why you should avoid buying it. Without further ado, let us delve into these points.

Lack of a true upgrade

Our first concern is that there is a lack of a true upgrade when comparing the Realme 10 Pro to the Realme 9 Pro. Many things are quite similar, and we expected to see some performance improvements, but that is not the case. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, which has been optimized in the same way as the 9 Pro. In terms of performance, there is no actual boost.

The UFS 2.2, LPDDR4X, 6/12GB base variant, and the battery and charging are still the same, with only a 10mAh difference in battery between the two devices. When it comes to battery backup and charging speed, there is no improvement. It seems more like a similar device than an upgrade.

Marketing gimmick

The company has aggressively promoted the Realme 10 Pro, portraying it as a significantly improved device due to the upgrade from a 64MP camera to a 108MP camera. However, they failed to mention that they had removed one of the most important lenses, the ultra-wide lens, which was present on the 9 Pro with an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens.

This was a very good feature, and its absence in the 10 Pro is significant. General consumers might believe that there has been a significant upgrade, but in terms of camera output, there is no significant improvement. The 9 Pro’s front-facing selfie shooter is still better than the 10 Pro’s, and the images produced are often very similar.

Realme has also claimed an on-paper upgrade to the device’s UI, which is based on Android 13 and Realme UI 4. However, there is a significant amount of bloatware present on the device, which is disappointing for a device that costs 20K. It does not feel like a premium device.

Positive aspects

There are some positive aspects worth mentioning. First, the speakers on the Realme 10 Pro are of good quality and are loud, even though they are not stereo speakers. Second, the display is impressive, with an FHD+ IPS LCD panel, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate, as well as a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The bezels on the 10 Pro are much smaller, giving the device a more modern appearance. Additionally, the punch hole for the front-facing camera is placed in the middle of the display, which is a better placement than the left side seen on the 9 Pro. Both devices have a plastic build with a matte finish and a boxy design that feels good to hold.

Conclusion

In conclusion, with only minor upgrades, there is little sense in purchasing the Realme 10 Pro. If you already own the Realme 9 Pro, upgrading does not make sense. Keeping these points in mind, it is important to choose wisely. You may be better off considering a different device rather than simply opting for the successor. Thank you for reading.
