There have been many questions arising about the camera and performance of the Realme 10 Pro Plus device. Is it worth purchasing? Most users and people will notice the display quality right away.
Realme 10 Pro+ Review: A Comprehensive Look at Features and Performance
The Realme 10 Pro Plus comes with a 6.7-inch Full HD 120Hz AMOLED curved display, and Realme states they have invested $15 million in the technology. The display looks beautiful and feels bezel-less, which is typically seen in mid-flagship smartphones (~40K smartphones).
At this price point, the curved display feature is a nice addition but does not have any practical uses. The display of this device is impressive, offering a flicker-free experience that eliminates eye strain at low brightness levels. The display is also vibrant and has good viewing angles, and Realme has optimized it well to avoid false touches. Additionally, the 10-bit color 100% DCI-P3 5000000:1 and double-reinforced glass make the device’s display top-notch.
There have been many questions regarding the curved display, such as its difficulty in finding the correct screen protectors and its durability. For most users at this price point, it provides a new and high-end experience. As previously mentioned, the device has a minimal and symmetrical design that makes it stand out among other budget-range smartphones.
There is no Gorilla glass, but the device does have double-reinforced glass, which has passed a 1.5-metre drop test and is fairly good. We do not believe that any other smartphones launching in the coming months will have competition with this device’s display.
The Realme 10 Pro Plus does have Widevine L1 support, allowing for the streaming of full HD content on streaming apps and HDR content on YouTube. Additionally, the device can reach up to 900 nits of peak brightness. It also comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Without a doubt, this is a high-quality AMOLED display at a budget price point, with low-blue light hardware and PWM dimming mode, which is better than DC dimming.
Under the hood, the Realme 10 Pro Plus is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 Soc, paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. At this price point, the performance is good and snappy, allowing for the smooth playing of Apex Legends on Ultra-HD graphics settings. While this SOC is new, it is not a major improvement compared to the previous generation Dimensity 920, as it is just a rebranded version.
MediaTek only boosted the clock speed on the MediaTek Dimensity 1080, with everything else remaining the same as on the Dimensity 920. There are no issues with throttling, and the performance and gaming are good, but there should be an upgrade on the chipset front.
In terms of the camera, the device has two large camera modules consisting of three cameras, including a 108 Samsung HM6 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 1 MP macro. The picture quality is excellent, and Realme UI makes the images social-ready, meaning they are pleasing to the eye.
The device has a 16MP selfie shooter, which only allows for the recording of 1080p at 30 fps, and the images are okay. The primary camera allows for the recording of 4K at 30 fps video with decent stabilization. This device also has good haptics, which are more accurate and improve the quality of using the smartphone.
If you remember, the Realme 9 Pro+ was known for having the OIS flagship camera at this budget. The company should continue providing useful features rather than removing them from their number series. However, this year they have ditched the OIS and are instead offering a 108 MP primary camera sensor.
The device runs on Realme UI 4, based on Android 13. Some of the useful features of this custom skin include live updates on the always-on display and the ability to change tracks on Spotify. The screenshot editor has many features, including Pixlate. This device will receive two major Android updates, which means it could go up to Android 15.
However, there is room for improvement, such as a workaround for removing bloatware and ads. The ads on notifications should be fixed with an update, as they do not feel good on a premium device.
As a cherry on top, Realme continues to provide a charger bundled with the box. The 80W SuperDART charger is included, even though the device only supports 60W fast charging. The device is equipped with a 5000mAh battery and has a total of 9 5G bands, ensuring that all important bands are coupled with this device.
You won’t feel the weight of the device when holding it, as it only weighs around ~174 g. This is because the device uses a plastic rear panel and a plastic frame, compared to the previous generation, which had a glass back. The plastic panel attracts a lot of fingerprints, and the design is flashy, which is good for some. However, the plastic panel also makes the device slimmer and lighter, with a weight of ~173 g and a thickness of 7.78 mm.
The device also comes equipped with dual speakers, with the secondary speaker placed on top of the device instead of using the earpiece. The dual-SIM slot does not have a microSD card slot, and there is no IP rating or headphone jack. The device is set to be priced at Rs. 25,000, making it a decent and balanced option for daily tasks at this price point.
