The OnePlus 6T Flagship Killer “Never Settle”: Review

Oneplus launched its Oneplus 6T in New York on October 24. The device comes with high-end specifications and is in an affordable price segment compared to the 2018 flagship smartphone. Oneplus is partnering with T-Mobile for offline sales as well. The device also supports the Verizon Network. The device runs over a 10 nm Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, which is clocked at 2.8 GHz and is further boosted by the Adreno 630 for graphics performance. It has 6GB and 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM paired with UFS 2.1 2 Lane 128GB and 256GB of onboard storage.

Oneplus 6T has minor upgrades over its predecessor.

The device gets a much bigger screen with a small notch, while the device has a 6.41-inch OLED display with a full HD+ resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Which is an 86% screen-to-body ratio, along with the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and a waterdrop notch on the top of the screen. Also offers screen calibration options like night mode, reading mode, and adaptive brightness, which allow users to use sRGB, DCI-P3, adaptive mode, and custom code to decrease the strain on their eyes during low-light situations.

They also introduced the improved in-display fingerprint sensor on the Oneplus device. It uses an optical in-display fingerprint sensor for the 4th generation in-display fingerprint scanner from Synaptics, which is the cheapest in-display fingerprint scanner till now. It takes 0.34 seconds to unlock the device, alongside Face Unlock in 0.4 seconds.

Under the hood, this device comes with a 3700mAh battery that can be used for at least 7 hours to 8 hours of screen-on time. When the device is charged using a Oneplus dash charger of 5V/4A, Oneplus removes a headphone jack by replacing a faux speaker grille. The company also bundles the Type C headphone jack into the box.

The chin at the bottom of the device and teardrop notch are also reduced. On top of the display is the front selfie shooter, which comes with 16 MP and an aperture of f/2. The 6T has a vertical dual camera 16MP + 20MP lens with an aperture of f/1.7 and optical and stabilization stabilization. The restabilization provided cameras for low-light photography, studio lighting, and enhanced portrait effects.

There has also been much improvement in the software experience. The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie and has its custom skin, HydrogenOS, on top of Android. The device supports shooting 4K 60fps video at 1080p at 240fps and 720fps at 480fps.

The Oneplus 6T has new gestures and features like a three-finger screenshot. Double-tap to lock, lift to wake, and use Google Assistant by long-pressing the power button.

Where the Gaming Mode makes alerts from third-party messaging and floating notifications. The device is available in two color variants, Mirror Black and Midnight Black. It is available at the price tag in three variants: 128GB with 6GB of RAM for $549, 128GB with 8GB of RAM for $579, and 256GB with 8GB of RAM for $629.
