Google announced the Android 15 First Developer Preview. It aims to boost productivity and media use. It has been available on all eligible devices already. It encourages developers to test and improve their apps before their final release in September.
There will be many Samsung devices that will receive the update, as they come with the highest number of Android update commitments. This year, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have 7 years of Android updates. Reportedly, Google is expected to finish working on the next version of Android by July, after which Samsung will announce its One UI 7 based on Android 15.
Android 15 Developer Preview for Samsung Galaxy
Google has made several minor improvements that are likely to go public in 2024, around I/O 2024. Android vendors like Xiaomi, Oppo, and OnePlus will also kick out the Android 15-based public beta for their flagships, which Samsung is unlikely to follow.
The update has many privacy and security enhancements. Under the hood, Android 15 also makes the device faster and more power-efficient. Google has been sizzling its own devices. You can expect Android 15 to be first available on Google’s devices and will be expanded to a set of devices in the coming weeks. Samsung devices are the first to get Android updates, but most of their devices will start receiving updates, and the road map will be shared.
Below, we have shared the complete list of Samsung devices that are most likely to receive Android 15-based OneUI 7. These devices are the ones that have the software update promise made by Samsung themselves. The list isn’t the final list officially shared by Samsung.

Samsung needs a couple of months to develop a custom skin for One UI 7 based on Android 15.
The official list of supported devices will not be available until Android 15 and OneUI 7. However, based on Samsung’s rollout history, we have created an unofficial list of Android 15-based OneUI 7.

If you don’t see your device on the list mentioned above, don’t panic. As the year progresses, we will be updating the list.
To make the list of eligible Samsung devices, Samsung devices do provide 2 years of Android Major OS upgrade. However, flagship and mid-range come with four years of Android updates, so devices running Android 11 or higher will receive the Android 15 update.

Android 15 DP is available for Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, and Pixel 8 Pro alongside an Android emulator. We don’t recommend anyone except developers to sideload on their device because of the instability.
The next developer preview of Android 15 will be available in March. The company has already started gathering feedback to address the issue and make it stable for everyone. The final release to AOSP and OEMs is planned for later this year. The list we shared is not final until at least August or September. We expect Samsung to stick with the usual schedule for major Android and OneUI updates.
