Microsoft just released the Microsoft Defender Preview for the US, and you can now download and test it on Windows 11/10 and Android devices. This preview is expected to expand pretty quickly after the initial testing phase.
What’s new in the Microsoft Defender Preview?
First things first, you’ll notice a complete visual overhaul of the product. It now shows the current status of your device, including a protection summary for the last 24 hours for all connected devices using the same Microsoft account. To view your connected devices, just click on the details panel.
You can also manage settings for threat protection on Windows, like virus and malware protection, ransom protection, and more. Plus, there’s a security history feature to keep track of the last threat that appeared on your device. Microsoft Defender has always been top-rated for home security, and the new UI is like the cherry on top.
As for the Android version, it’s more of an alert app that notifies you about potentially malicious apps. It’s super useful for keeping tabs on the current status of all your devices.
