Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that they are rebranding HBO Max as Max. This is because they have combined with Discovery and want to include more Discovery content. The new Max app will have a new logo and user interface, as well as an easier navigation menu to find content from both services.
This change will make it more appealing to families and will include more inclusive content for a wider audience. Max will still have all the same content as HBO Max, including original programming, movies, and TV shows. And now there will be new content from Discovery, like reality shows, documentaries, and children’s programs.
If you are already using HBO Max, you can keep using it with your current password and log in on your device. The price will not change until November 2023. Your settings and history will stay the same during the transition, so you can keep watching your shows and movies where you left off. And if you have a free HBO Max subscription through your cable provider, you will now have a free Max subscription.
Max will have over 1000 titles in 4K, a combination of HBO Max and Discovery Plus.
The cost of HBO Max won’t change even after the service has been rebranded. The new HBO Max will have additional content from Discovery, and all current subscribers will be moved to the new service automatically. New users can sign up for HBO Max through the HBO Max website or app. All major streaming devices will support the new HBO Max. The new service will have a wide range of shows and new content from both HBO Max and Discovery+, covering different genres and interests.
There might be some users who need to download a new version of the HBO Max app, but the app will automatically update to the new Max app on certain devices. Billing details, watchlists, and profiles will still be accessible to users. The Max app for Android and iOS is currently available, and you can pre-register for it.
Previously, HBO Max didn’t offer much content in 4K. However, Warner Bros. has addressed this issue with Max, promising over 1000 titles in 4K video quality at launch. These infrastructure changes will allow users to enjoy higher-quality videos, and the new workflow will make it possible to release more 4K content faster and more efficiently.
HBO Max becomes Max, with the new tagline “The One to Watch.”
Users will be able to watch the new 4K content immediately when Max launches and we are expected to launch more 4K content every month.
The Max app offers three plan options that include Ad-Lite, Ad-Free, and Ultimate Ad-Free:
