Due to Google suspending some businesses, Huawei and Honour devices lack the Google application. Which doesn’t allow them to install Core GMS packages, but in China it’s not a big deal. However, outside India, users are used to Google Apps on Huawei and Honor devices.
How to Download and Install the Google Play Store on EMUI 9.0 or EMUI 9.1
Here is the complete guide to installing Google’s Play Store on an EMUI-powered device.
Prerequisites
- The GMS installer for Huawei APK can be downloaded here.
- Enable Unknown Source installation from the device settings, by navigating to Device Settings > Security > Toggle to enable Unknown Source.
Install the Google Play Store on EMUI using Google Services Assistant or Google.
- Open the GSM package, and then grant the required permissions (Media and Storage Permission).
- Next, if you haven’t inserted a SIM, it will ask you to log in to your Huawei account to activate GSM.
- On the screen, there will be a few Google Play apps to install. Check the checkbox for the apps you want to install on your device.
- After that, click on Next, and it will start installing all the selected apps.
- Once you finish installing, sign in to your Google account and open the Google Play Store.
- That’s it!
Resolve the Google Apps crash on Huawei phones.
- Open Device Settings and head over to Apps and Notifications.
- Go to Applications, and from there, tap on “See all apps.”
- After that, look for the Android System WebView. (If it does not appear, then tap on Show System in the upper-right corner.)
- Choose Force Stop and uninstall it from your device. (If it doesn’t appear, tap on the uninstall button in the upper-right corner.)
- That’s it!
Gapps are not included with Chinese-version devices, including those from Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi, and Realme. Due to licensing issues, Huawei wasn’t allowed to pack Gapps on their device.
