YouTube is rolling out a new feature, which is helpful as it allows you to go live with a friend or co-host directly from your Android device. This feature will be available on both Android and iOS, but there is a restriction that only users with more than 50 subscribers are allowed to use this feature.
So, if you have over 50 subscribers, you can use the co-stream feature with the guest you want to go live with. YouTube was the first to make this announcement, which was supposed to go live at the end of December 2019. Finally, it’s rolling out across the globe. Let’s take a closer look at how to use this feature on your device.
How to use Go Live with a Co-Host or Friend on YouTube with an Android or iOS Device
Before proceeding, this feature is only available in the latest version of the YouTube app. As a result, ensure that your app has been updated from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. After updating your app, as we have mentioned, you require more than 50 subscribers, but your co-host doesn’t need any; he can join you.
- Open YouTube and click on the “Create” and “+” buttons.
- Tap on “Go Live Together.” Then, like any other live stream session, it will ask you to enter a title, description, or key to start streaming.
- Then, share the link with your guest, and your co-host must join your stream via the link you provided.
- That’s it!
The guest channel will not be affected if they violate any guidelines or copyrights. The host channel will have to face the consequences. This feature is yet to come on desktop; as of now, it’s only available on mobile devices on both Android and iOS.
