Fix: Unable to install Origin Code 10.0 on Windows 10

There could be multiple factors behind this, which you can fix by using the following troubleshooting steps:

Fundamental Server Problem

First things first, you need to check the server to see if it is still up for use. Check for the network outage, and you can check on DownDetector or head over to the official Twitter handle for real-time network downtime.

Delete Origin ThinSetupInternal.exe.

If there isn’t any server outage, you can fix the error by deleting OriginThinSetupInternal.exe. However, ensure you have installed the latest version. Check if Origin and Driver are outdated and have any functionality issues.

Some users have suggested that removing the OriginThinSetupInternal.exe file can fix the error. Here is the described setup.

  • Locate the Origin Installation folder.
    • As for Bydeafaut, the open Windows File Explorer.
    • Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\x86)\Original
  • Then, check for OriginThinSetupInternal.exe.
    • You can use Search to find OriginThinSetupInternal.exe.
  • Once you find it, delete OriginThinSetupInternal.exe permanently.
    • Confirm your action on UAC (User Account Control).
  • That’s it.

Reinstalling Origin

If you are still encountering this issue, then you need to reinstall the origin. Here is the Uninstallation Guide.

  • Open the Control Panel and head over to Programmes and Features
    • Alternatively, click the Start menu and go to Programmes and Features.
  • Now, find the program and features and right-click on them.
  • Click on Uninstall. Follow the on-screen wizard instructions to complete the uninstallation.
  • After that, there were some files still saved on your device.
  • Go to the C:\Program Files (x86) folder and delete the Origin folder.
  • That’s it.

After this, download and install the latest version of the installation. Follow the on-screen wizard instructions to complete the installation. Launch and check if the issue has been resolved.

Check your antivirus.

If you are using a third-party antivirus solution, then check if it restricts Origin from accessing resources. For a quick check, disable the Realtime and Antivirus and try Origin again to check if it got fixed or not.
