Samsung released Android 14-based One UI 6.1 last month. The company continues to roll out updates, and the Galaxy A72 has received its latest major update. Regarding updating Android devices, Samsung is among the best at keeping its devices up-to-date, even older ones.
The device was launched in March 2021, powered by Android 11, with a promise from Samsung to offer three major OS upgrades. Since the launch, updates have been rolled out for Android 12 in late 2021, Android 13 in late 2022, and Android 14.
The Galaxy A72 received an update with the latest December 2023 security patch. The firmware version is A725FXXU6EWL4, and it weighs 2GB. If you haven’t received the update, you can manually check for it by heading over to device settings > Software Update > and then downloading and installing the update on your device. Before updating, ensure you have at least 2 GB of free storage. Also, keep your device charged to at least 50% in case of failure.
