The startup sound in Windows 11 is different than previous versions – and already enabled by default. You’ll hear it as your PC boots up and the Lock screen appears allowing you to log in. The new sound embedded in Windows 11’s startup sequence is not a big hit with everyone, though. Microsoft’s new operating system has a more fashionable esthetic that is deemed ‘too delicate’ by many.
There are multiple ways you can disable the startup sound on Windows 11 if you’re one of those people or just looking to ensure that the booting sequence of Windows 11 won’t disrupt the conference, seminar, or meeting hall that you’re attending (or anything else).
There are many method to enable and disable Startup Sound on Windows 11. But today we use the Simple method to enable and disable Startup Sound on Windows 11 via the Sound Settings.
Disable or Enable Startup Sound on Windows 11 via the Sound Settings
- Open the Settings menu by pressing Windows key + I.
- When you’re in the Settings menu, click on the action icon (top-left corner of the screen) and choose Personalization from the newly appeared side menu.
- Click on Themes from the list of available options once you’re in the Personalisation tab.
- Next, click on Sounds (Windows Default) in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.
- As soon as you’re in the Sound window, make sure Sounds is selected. Under Program Events, untick the Play Windows Startup Soundbox.
- Once you click Apply to save the changes, your Windows 11 computer will no longer make a startup sound.
