Samsung 

Being a technology giant with a huge market share, Samsung is known as a consistent Android update provider. Samsung has always prioritized future updates, which is why they are known as the king of the future. Sometimes they are so desperate that they challenge Google (the owner of Android) in terms of update rollout. It is probably the only company that guarantees four years of updates with security patches.

According to records, Samsung provided four years of updates for high-end smartphones launched in 2019. And they have also provided five years of security updates for some more devices. As for Android 12, it was rolled out in just 41 days after launch, and Samsung was the top provider. In the smartphone industry, Samsung has given a lot to the industry and has always been regarded as the best.

Google 

Google is now the second smartphone from which users can expect frequent Android updates. Being the parent company of Android, Google has always topped the competition, except for Samsung. As soon as Google released the Pixel 3 series, it began providing long-lasting updates. As per the data, Google provides three years of software and security updates. 

Since the launch of the Pixel 6 series, Google has also updated its Android update policy, which guarantees three years of software updates and five years of security updates. Furthermore, the Google Pixel series has a stock UI, so even if an update is delayed, no issue arises. As the parent of Android, I know Google won’t delay it.

OPPO

In the same way that Google and Samsung are on the same page, Op is on the same page, but they are separated. Previously, there was no such thing, but back in May 2022, they updated their policy. In that policy, they said to provide three years of software and four years of security updates for the Find X series. The Reno and F series will receive two years of software updates and three years of security updates. And the rest will receive one-year software updates. After the initial launch, OPPO is the second company to deliver Android 12 in just 57 days. 

Vivo 

Being the flagship of the BBK group, Vivo follows the same path as OPPO. But there is a downside to Vivo. I mean, Vivo provided the Android 12 update within 76 days of its initial launch. Vivo, like OPPO, did not update its policy, but in 2022, it committed to offering three-year updates. To stay up-to-date on future updates, Vivo provides a tool called “Select a product model.” In addition to that, there is nothing new with Vivo, but I hope they will update their policy soon or possibly tweak it with other sister companies as well.

Besides that, there are many other known companies, such as Realme, LG, Sony, and more. However, we found all the items on our list during our research. The reason is, that they only update once a year, which is a very short period. But yes, OnePlus and Motorola are among the companies that promise three years of software updates for their selected phones. Apart from them, the rest of the companies do not provide frequent updates to their titles.
