The popular caller ID app Truecaller has returned its call recording feature, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) to make it simple. This feature records calls and stores them locally for better privacy. It can also turn the recording into text, making it easier to navigate. AI technology preserves both sides of the call in high quality, and transcription allows easy summarization.

The transcription feature uses Large Language Model (LLM) technology to generate human-written text with a short subject line. It can find specific information, such as names, dates, and times. Each transcription summarises all call recordings. This feature is currently only available in the US for premium users on Android and iOS. The company plans to gradually launch this feature in other regions in the coming months.

Call recording on Telegram

Telegram’s call recording feature allows users to record incoming and outgoing calls. Although the feature was introduced on Android in 2018, it was later removed due to restrictions on Google’s accessibility API. Now, Truecaller has relaunched the feature, using cloud storage to send recorded calls to users after they end.

However, starting on May 11, 2022, Truecaller will discontinue the call recording function due to the updated Google Developer Policy. Recording phone calls can also be subject to legal requirements in certain countries. Due to privacy concerns, Google has been against call-recording apps and services for many years. As a result, Google’s own Dialer app has also removed call recording.

How to Record Telegram Calls

To record a call with Truecaller, users must merge a recording line provided by the app with the ring they want to record. Once the call ends, they will receive a push notification with the recorded files. Users can tap the Truecaller dialer on Android to start a recording call. Truecaller will show a floating recording button if Android users use another calling app.

Note: The other person will hear a beep to indicate that the call is being recorded, which is different from normal call recording. Users can easily manage recordings by listening to, renaming, sharing, or deleting them.

To record on Android, users can directly access Truecaller’s dialer. Truecaller will show the floating recording button if they use another mobile phone. As for iOS, users must use a call recording line through the Truecaller app and merge the calls. Here are the following steps to guide you through the process:

Noteworthy

  • This feature is available in Truecaller’s full-screen caller ID and pop-up caller ID. You can manually turn the feature on or off if all permissions are granted.
  • Once you start a call, it automatically connects you to a recording line. The call will be recorded on the Truecaller website. After the call ends, a recording will be sent to you. You can then listen to, share, or delete the recording.
  • This feature is only available for premium users, and the recording line may not be available in all countries.
  • Call recording may be better than recording on your device.
  • Truecaller allows users to record calls manually and offers an auto-record feature.
  • This technology has been around for some time and is used by many businesses.

How to Record Calls on iPhone with Truecaller

To enable call recording on Truecaller:

  • Open your device’s Settings menu and select the Accessibility option.
  • Look for the Truecaller call recording feature under the “Downloaded Apps” section.

For incoming calls

  • Answer the incoming call first, then open the Truecaller app and navigate to the Search tab.
  • Tap the “Record a Call” button to call the recording line (a special number provided by Truecaller).
  • Merge the two calls and wait for the conference call to end. You will then receive a push notification for the call recording.

For outgoing calls

  • To record outgoing calls, use the Truecaller app and go to the Search tab to find the “Record a Call” option.
  • After calling the recording line, you can add a call by selecting a phonebook contact or manually entering a desired number.
  • Once the calls are merged, they will be recorded.

After merging two calls, the call will be recorded. Users can listen to the recording in the Truecaller app or open it in their phone’s storage. To access all call recordings, open Truecaller, tap on the menu, and select “Call Recordings.”
