We see a lot of cameras and sensors nowadays. Every single smartphone manufacturer is pushing their smartphone. Even some smartphones are specific to camera-centric smartphones. In the past few months, we have seen 48MP, 64MP, and 108MP camera sensors from industry-leading camera sensor manufacturers Sony and Samsung.
Well, the device uses four different types of camera sensors a smartphone. Ultra-Wide, Depth, Telephoto, and Macro. Smartphone manufacturers used to put all camera sensors and lenses in a camera module. Not to mention, every mobile has a multiple-camera sensor on the table. However, it also depends on the chipset and how perfectly it processes using software optimization.
Ultra-wide angle
This is considered the most important camera sensor because you can capture a greater field of view with your smartphone camera. Recently, the Vivo V17 Pro launched a wide-angle camera lens for their front pop-up selfie camera.
It is designed to capture group photos. The field of view of the device is measured by the focal length of the lens. It used to fit more objects in a single frame in a significant way. Almost all OEMs try to capture as much as your eye can see.
Depth sensor
This also plays an important role in a smartphone camera used for facial recognition. Usually, it helps to enable Face-Unlock on a smartphone because it can convert a 3D image into a 2D one. This capability of converting also helps during Bokeh Mode and portrait shots. As you are aware, we are only able to see the 3D world because we have two eyes that work simultaneously to help us understand the depth of field.
Macro
It is currently in its initial stage, where a macro object is to be focused using a macro lens. This macro mode is commonly used to capture an object closer. This was almost different because of the camera lens. Some allow you to focus on an object at a distance of 2cm, while others require a distance of 4cm from the subject. 4 cm from the subject.
Telephoto
This is one of the most commonly used smartphone sensors in a dual or triple-camera setup. Moreover, it is exactly the opposite of a wide angle. Where a wide angle expands the field of view, it allows us to zoom into a subject. This lens having a 2x focal length of the primary lens means a quicker 2x zoom into your subject. This lens is more suitable for portraits compared to wide-angle.
