We have recently covered that Samsung introduced the charging bypass feature with the Galaxy S23, and it has also been rolling out to the Galaxy S23 Series. If you do not know about this feature, we would like to briefly recap it here. This feature will allow the device to use direct power from the source instead of charging the battery. It will directly give power to the processor. For this, you need to enable the Game Booster Settings, and with this feature, you can prevent overheating, improve battery health, and get consistent performance while playing the game.
This could arrive on older devices, but Samsung has not confirmed it yet. However, with Game Booster and Charging Bypass, your battery does not drain and remains at the same charge level. However, for this feature to work, you need at least 20% of a battery, which can only be activated during gaming sessions.
As we covered previously, this feature will only work on high-end devices because of the hardware limitations of low-end smartphones. They support this functionality if you have Samsung Galaxy S22 Series, Galaxy A73, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 4, or Galaxy S23 Series. To enable it, we have an in-depth guide with step-by-step instructions mentioned below.
How to Enable Battery Bypass on Your Galaxy and Foldable Smartphone
Before proceeding, you need to ensure that you have the latest version of Game Booster v5.0.03.0 installed and that you have a supported device. Check Telegram for the latest modules.
- First, connect your device to a charging adapter with a 25W USB PD/PPS charger. For this, your device should support a 25W charger, which most Samsung devices do.
- After that, launch any game from the Game Launcher app on your device.
- Now, open the Game Launcher’s More menu to access Game Booster Settings by clicking the Game Booster icon while running the game in the background.
- Next, you will see the Pause USB Power Delivery option. Toggle it to enable it.
While this feature is enabled, the device generally gets 15W to 20W of power. This feature is not quite comparable to the ASUS ROG Phone, which uses a battery charging bypass, but yes, Samsung devices help reduce the heat generated by the charging process.
As some people have claimed, the Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy Tab S8 may support this feature.
