Today at their Samsung news they have published news about their upcoming 600-megapixel camera sensor that likely to be more than human eyes can see. Yongin Park, Head of Sensor Business Team at Samsung aims to develop smartphone camera sensor up to 600 megapixels. Whereas human eyes can see up to 500 megapixels.
Samsung is one of the biggest smartphone camera manufacturer and development for a long time in the industry. They have launched the 64 megapixel and 108 megapixel camera sensor for the first time and designed for a smartphone. Which were the one of the major key factor that pushes the smartphone camera output and the result to the peak?
Samsung highest megapixel camera sensor was 108MP. Which is used in Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and Xiaomi MI Note 10 with ISOCELL Bright HM1 and ISOCELL Bright HMX respectively. However where it uses their 20 megapixel and 27-megapixel camera sensor but with the help of pixel binning Technology. They achieved the highest camera count in a smartphone.
Not to mention 600 MP would be one of the highest achievement and TV feature on a smartphone. Likewise, the Camera sensor would be e having large pixel size. For example, HM1 and HMX answer has 0.8μm pixel size. Moreover, they will be going to introduce 0.7μm pixel size to fit in a smartphone take it to the next level by for the shrinking.
Currently, there is no official timeline for the Camera sensor. But it is under development. We might see the device with a 600-pixel camera sensor in one of their concept smartphone.
