To improve the quality of life, Apple has introduced Notification Summary and Focus Mode. However, there may be some issues that prevent these features from functioning as intended. In this article, we will share some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue of notifications not working on an iPhone running iOS 16.
The notification function on my iPhone, running iOS 16, is not working properly. Is there a solution to this issue?
Turn on Focus Mode.
If you are not receiving notifications, Focus Mode may be the cause. Try disabling this feature in the Control Center. This will likely fix the issue, and you will begin receiving notifications on your device.
Custom Focus
Custom Focus allows you to receive notifications from specific people or apps. To set this up,
- Open Device Settings and navigate to the Focus option.
- Under Do Not Disturb, click on Focus.
- Tap on Allow Notification From and add the people you want to receive notifications from.
- To receive notifications from specific apps, select Add App Notifications and choose the desired apps.
- If you want to receive time-sensitive notifications, toggle on the option for it. Remember to save your changes.
Disable Focus Mode Automation
Your iPhone may automatically enable Focus Mode if you have set rules for specific times or locations. To disable this feature, follow these steps:
- Open Device Settings and navigate to Focus.
- Select the focus mode you want to disable.
- Go to Set a Schedule and toggle to disable the schedule.
- Alternatively, you can delete the schedule.
- You’re all set!
Turn off Share Across Device
If you own multiple devices and have enabled Focus Mode on one of them, it may be synced and enabled across all of your devices. To disable this feature, follow these steps:
- Open Settings and navigate to Focus.
- At the bottom, you will find an option to toggle off “Share Across Devices.”
- You’re all set!
Notification summary
Notification Summary is a useful feature of iOS, but it may sometimes encounter errors. To turn off the notification summary, follow these steps:
- Open Device Settings and go to Notifications.
- Tap on Scheduled Summary and toggle to disable Scheduled Summary. If you are still experiencing issues with notifications, try checking the settings for each app. To do this,
- Open Device Settings and go to Notifications.
- Scroll down to find the app for which you are having notification issues.
- Tap on the app and ensure that notifications are enabled by toggling Allow Notifications.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, try reinstalling the app or checking for updates. If the problem persists, you may need to restart your phone or reset your iPhone settings. To reset your iPhone settings:
- Open Device Settings, go to General and choose Reset iPhone.
- Select Reset All Settings. We hope these steps will help you fix the notification issue on your device.
