Starting with Google Duo’s Meet, it started merging. To make things simple, two of Google’s communication apps merged: Duo and Meet. Today they have started rolling out to all users, and all the users will receive a welcome greeting overviewing the transitions.
The duo is still active, and Google likely needs more time to finish the final phase. On the other hand, Google also kicked off the Google Meet integration across Google Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides). This will allow you to chat with your shared partner while working on the documents.
This takes it to the next level, and the collaborative workspace gives more power to the Google Suite. Additionally, Google Meet supports PIP (Picture-In-Picture) mode in the Chrome browser. This means you can pop out the Meet window while working on your documents.
On top of that, a new noise suppression system enhances the overall experience. Google also announced a new feature to make communication safer with encryption. Meanwhile, you can now share your private calls with up to 100,000 people via livestream.
How to use Google Meet on Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
- Launch your Google Docs, Sheets, or Slide in your browser.
- Click on the Meet icon placed on the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Now it will ask you whether you want to join or create a meeting; choose accordingly.
- Once you enter the meeting, you can also share the documents by clicking on the Share screen icon.
- That is it!
This addition makes the remote working scenario more effortless. This feature was first announced last year in I/O 2021 as Smart Canvas. This feature is available globally and has started rolling out; you can expect it to appear on your Google Suit anytime soon.
