Apple iOS 15 comes with Focus Mode, which is an advanced version of Do Not Disturb that allows you to focus on your task. While it will turn off all notifications and silence the device, you can also configure it based on your preferences.
Set Up Focus Mode on iPhone and iPad
It is straightforward to enable without further ado. Let’s check it out.
- Open Device Settings and scroll down to find Focus on the page.
- There you will find some default modes, such as personal, sleep, and work. To add, click on the + icon that appears in the upper-right corner.
- Then, choose a name, or you can name yourself ‘Custom.’
- It asks you to add a person, which you allow in-between to call you or receive notifications in the focus mode.
- Also, you can choose the group to receive incoming calls or notifications from device contacts.
- After choosing the person, click on Allow Number of Persons.
- Afterward, click on the apps that you want to add to receive notifications or use.
- Next, choose time sensitive. Which will classify the notifications, and then click Allow Number of Apps.
- That’s it. Click on Done to save the mode.
Note: Certain modes will enable, like fitness mode, once you enable or work with an Apple Watch.
Tweak Focus Mode
After saving or creating a Focus Mode, you can choose which suits you the most. For this, you need to follow the instructions mentioned below.
- Open Device Settings and then head over to Focus Mode.
- From there, choose Focus Status. This will allow end-users to know that you are busy and trying to focus on a specific task. It will send you a focus notification.
- Revert to Settings, Home Screen. There, you can select the hidden notification badges you want to show.
- Revert to the lock screen, and from there, you can enable the Dim lock screen and hide notifications or such.
Enable Focus Mode
- Open the Control Panel
- Click on Focus, and then choose the mode that you want to enable.
- Then, choose the time for how long you want to enable Focus Mode.
- That’s it!
So this is how you can enable the Focus Mode, Setup Focus Mode, and Tweak Focus Mode settings on your device.
