Mac users running Big Sur 11.5 are now able to download the update. It features several bug fixes and important security updates, along with the new option to display all or followed shows in the Podcasts app. Please see below for a full list of the release’s notes. Even though the 11.5 update contains a relatively small number of changes, it weighs about 3GB.
Security Update 2021-004 is available for Macs running Catalina (10.15.7) and Mojave (10.14.6), plus an update to Safari for computers running Catalina and Mojave. Additionally, iPadOS 14.7 is available for the iPad, as is iOS 14.7 for the iPhone.
How to Download and Install MacOS Big Sur 11.5
Before installing any system software updates, backup your Mac with Time Machine (or another backup method).
- To access the * Apple menu, go to the * Dock
- Select “System Preferences”
- Choose the “Software Updates” drop-down menu
- The “macOS Big Sur 11.5” update will appear
The size of the update will take time to download, and the installation will require a restart of your Mac.
Also available for Mac users without the Big Sur updates is Mojave 2021-005 and Catalina 2021-004, as well as a new version of Safari.
