Stardock has released Groupy 2, a desktop enhancement tool that gives Windows a universal tab experience. This allows users to group multiple windows into a tabbed interface, like a web browser. It is currently in public beta testing and will be free for everyone in the coming months on Windows 10 and Windows 11. This update introduces a new feature called Grouping. It allows users to customize the appearance and behavior of their tabs, such as color, shape, and position, to match the Windows theme and preference.

This update brings tab preview, tab group, and tab management options to organize groups of related programs and files together. It will help users save time by allowing them to switch between groups of programs and reduce the number of windows open at once. You can also save groups of applications to the taskbar for quick access.

Groupy 2 now lets you add tabs to all your Windows 11 apps. It’s in public beta; you can try it on Windows 11 and 10.

Group 2 is a third-party app that adds tabs to Windows. This update brings the new Windows 11 design principles and many other improvements. Stardock announced it in late 2017 and can help you save a lot of space on your desktop by displaying multiple apps in a single window, similar to a webpage in your browser. Unlike Windows Set, a similar feature Microsoft wanted to add to Windows 10, Stardock abandoned the project.

Some new features include grouping apps and pinning them to the taskbar for easy access with a single click. It also combines applications on the taskbar so that all the apps inside a single window will take up less space and let you see the grouped programs at a glance. New accent features allow coloring your tabs for improved accessibility and are associated with specific tasks or applications, and you can customize the look and behavior to match your preferences.

This is available for $6.9. However, if you own the original Groupy, you can get an extra discount on Groupy 2. If you are already a member of Stardock’s Object Desktop program, you can get the beta for free on your account as part of the Object Desktop suite at no additional cost. The app works well, matches Windows 11 aesthetics, and works fine alongside native tabbed apps like File Explorer and Notepad.

Stardock Groupy 2 allows users to group windows into a single window with tabs to stay organized and productive. It will enable users to simply drag and drop and integrate with File Explorer, allowing users to group multiple folders and files into tabs. This is still in beta, but it is a promising tool for those who want to improve their productivity by organizing their apps more efficiently.
