Hey there! I’ve got some exciting news if you’re a Galaxy Buds 2 Pro fan. Samsung has just rolled out a new firmware update packed with excellent features to enhance your listening experience. Let me break it down for you.

Enhanced accessibility features

Samsung has announced an update with an enhanced accessibility feature to improve ambient sound quality. A new “adapt ambient sound” section also sharpens the clarity of environmental sounds coming through your earbuds. This feature, released on Global Accessibility Awareness Day, aims to help people with sound amplification.

Important Note

The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro shouldn’t be used as a medical device. However, they are a more flexible and less expensive alternative to over-the-counter hearing aids. To install the update, you’ll need a Galaxy smartphone running Android 8.0 or later with at least 1.5 GB of RAM. Samsung plans to expand this update to more countries soon.

New features and improvements

The update, build number R510XXU0AWF3, is already live in South Korea. It improves the Ambient Sound Volume Slider, offering five amplification levels instead of three. There’s also an adjustable call clarity feature, which is super handy in noisy environments. And let’s remember the Hearing Assistance and Listen Louder options.

Some other cool features include:

  • Hearing assistance
  • Adjusting call clarity
  • Louder listening
  • Improved overall performance
  • A more personalised listening experience
  • Independent ambient sound adjustment for each ear

Lab Menu Updates

In the Labs menu, you can now adjust animation sharpness, listen louder, and enhance ambient sound. You can fine-tune how much ambient sound you want to hear in each ear and check the volume of each earbud independently. Customize your ambient sound tone from soft to clear across five different stages.

Update for Samsung Galaxy Buds 2

The update will soon be available in other regions. It offers users without hearing impairments more control over ambient sound modes, a feature already available on the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. It’s still being determined if this advanced ambient sound feature will be available on older Galaxy Buds models. To find out, download the latest Buds 2 Pro update.

How to Install the Update

Here’s how you can install the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 update:

  1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app and connect your smartphone.
  2. Search for an earbud software update. You won’t be able to use your headphones while installing the update.
  3. Pair the Galaxy Buds 2 with an Android phone by placing the buds inside the case next to your phone. Open the lid and wait for a prompt to appear on your phone.
  4. Be patient and let the system complete the installation procedure.

You can download the update through the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone or tablet. On Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Samsung wasn’t the only company to announce upcoming advancements. Apple also announced several improvements and features to iOS and iPadOS, including cognitive, speech, and vision accessibility.
