But to have convenience on various devices Google launched their own Word Formatting tool for people with low-end devices.

It has been observed that Microsoft Office requires higher internal storage and also creates more RAM consumption. So, that means MS Office Suite is preferred to be less. Google Docs has removed these drawbacks of MS Office. Presently, users are looking to enable dark mode. So, here we will discuss how to enable Google Docs Dark Mode.

How to Enable Google Docs Dark Mode

Dark Mode allows the user to write anytime. Especially during low-light transmissions. Although Google Docs navigation is easier, it is also known for its easy-to-navigate benefits. But still, users are facing issues enabling dark mode. In response to this, we have prepared a set of steps for mainly two platforms: Android and Windows. Google Docs’ Android and iOS applications have the same navigation and settings. So, without any further discussion, let’s have a look at the steps for each platform.

For Android

  • To begin, first launch the Google Docs app.
  • Then, tap on the three horizontal lines (Burger Menu) option appearing in the top left corner.
  • Now, tap on Settings in it.
  • Afterwards, tap on Choose Theme and select Dark.
  • Following this, your whole Google Docs app will transform into dark mode.

For Windows

Note: The Google Docs PC version does not officially support dark modes. But, still, you can do so with the help of a third-party extension.

  • Firstly, launch Google Chrome on your PC.
  • Then, navigate to the Google Docs Dark Mode extension’s page.
  • Now, click on Add to Chrome.
  • As a result, a pop-up will appear on your screen.
  • Then, click the Add Extension button in the pop-up window.
  • Following this, the given extensions (Google Docs Dark Mode, Chrome Web Store) will be downloaded and installed.
  • That’s it. Your Google Docs on PC will automatically enable dark mode.
