Microsoft released their new version of Outlook apps for low-end smartphones. It is available for Android in 14 countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, and Venezuela. However, there are no words about expanding the service to left-out countries.
The app’s weight is just 5 MB; when compared to Outlook, it is around 8 MB in size. You can use Outlook, Hotmail, Live, MSN, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Exchange Online email accounts. Not to mention, like Outlook, it does support ads, and it does offer sync to emails, calendars, and contacts.
This is just a literate version of Outlook offering a similar experience, and it is pretty handy, especially on a low-coverage network. Google and Facebook also have some lite applications for their services; these are used to target countries where even 4G is not stable and 5G is a long way ahead.
“With Outlook Lite, our goal is to make Outlook more accessible to users who are on lightweight mobile devices across the world, empowering them to achieve more.”
Microsoft Outlook Lite is faster and smaller in size, but it offers faster performance; the smaller app size leads to better battery optimization. You can run this on the device having 1 GB of RAM and being accessible with 2G and 3G connectivity.
The main goal is to cover the market and make the email app more accessible to users. On top of this, this app does not sacrifice any prominent features or performance.
