Microsoft launched the AI-powered CoPilot Chatbot app after two weeks of the web app for Android devices, which is available to download on the Google Play Store. Under the hood, the app uses Chromium for CoPilot on WebView, allowing it to run efficiently on Android 11 or newer devices launched in the past three years. The app size is 86.37 MB.
According to the Google App listing, the CoPilot app has been on the Google Play Store for a week, unlike its iOS counterpart, which suggests that Microsoft will officially announce it later. It will improve the experience of using AI to generate content using text prompts. It is said to improve productivity by offering a more focused user experience. With a Microsoft account, you can take advantage of full functionality.
Microsoft CoPilot App on Android after being available on desktop
Like CoPilot on Windows and the web app, it is powered by OpenAI’s DALL-E and GPT-4 to accomplish all major features like text, coding, and image generation. Using CoPilot is straightforward; it does not require a Microsoft account to sign in. Unlike Bing Chat, it focuses on AI-Chat assistance for a streamlined experience, but you will see ads occasionally.
The company will also release the iOS app in the coming weeks, but if you want to use it now, you can use the Bing app to access CoPilot. CoPilot was rebranded from Bing Chat a little over a month ago. On the other hand, Microsoft has also announced Bing Chat and Bing Chat Enterprise as additions to CoPilot, with plans to expand new features in CoPilot for Enter ID users. It is an excellent alternative to ChatGPT or other AI-based chatbots. The company is also rolling out the most advanced ChatGPT 4 Turbo for some users. The app allows users to access it.
Microsoft Copilot
It brings a new feature that combines LLMs with existing Microsoft products. More than 1 billion devices already have CoPilot for Windows 10, Edge, Microsoft 365 Products, and Windows 11.
- Windows 11
- Bing Search
- Microsoft Edge
- Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
A recently added feature is the availability of third-party plugins for the CoPilot app. It offers many possibilities for completing each task. It is still in preview and being improved. The app will ask for approximate location permission (which is not required), and there is also a toggle to enable GPT-4, which may slow down creativity.
Microsoft is expanding with new features like history, plugins, Code Interpreter, and a more multifunctional assistant for Android. The app already has many features, like a light and dark theme toggle, tone functionality, clear history, and more. You can use it for drafting emails, creating posts for social media, generating images using text, language translation, proofreading, and other multilingual support.
In addition to the Microsoft CoPilot app, Microsoft has integrated GenAI into Android, Microsoft Edge, SwiftKey, Skype, and more. Additionally, Microsoft has monetized CoPilot, which is suitable for businesses. It does not store user data and does not train on it. It costs $30 per user per month on top of a Microsoft 365 E3 or E5 subscription.
