Create a local account during Windows 11 setup.

You can get started while you are setting up Windows 11. To create a local account, you have to dig a bit to create a local account. Creating local accounts on Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro both have different approaches to doing this.

How to create a local account during Windows 11 Home Setup?

  • You will require active internet connectivity during the initial process. Once you reach the sign-in page, you can disconnect your internet by turning off the router. Also, you can get Setup 2 right by not connecting your device to the internet.
  • Now, click on the “Create One” button that appears below the sign-in box. Because you don’t have an active internet connection, Windows 11 lets you set up an offline or local account.
  • Give your local account a name, and then follow the on-screen setup by entering your password.
  • That’s it. Your Windows 11 Home local account has been set up successfully.

How to Set Up a Local Account in Windows 11 Pro

  • Unlike Windows 11 Home, the offline account is hidden, but you can still create a local account by digging into the sub-menu. So let’s check it out.

  • Enter “taskmgr” and hit enter to open the Task Manager.
  • From there, look for “Network Connection Flow” under the Processes tab.
  • Choose “Network Connection Flow,” right-click on it, and then click on End Task.
  • It will then redirect you to the final step of setting up a local account.
  • Enter your local account name and password.
  • Successfully created, that’s it!

Create a local account on Windows 11 after creating an online account (installation).

After installing Windows 11, if you wish to switch to a local account on Windows 11, here is a quick walkthrough to do so.

  • Open Windows Settings (shortcut key: Windows + I).
  • Next, head over to Account, and then go to Family, and other users will appear on the right panel.
  • Click on “Add account” and then choose “Create a local account.”
