Samsung’s internet browser is one of the most popular, followed by Google’s Chrome on mobile. Today Samsung updated its browser with a Copy text from image feature in their latest beta. Samsung Internet V18 brings major updates like text extraction from an image, foldable optimization, and an advanced tracker block. UI tweaks include the new URL bar, toolbar, and close tab button on Foldable.
Most people use the Samsung internet browser to block tracking since Google’s primary business is advertisements, and Chrome is their weapon. Samsung introduced this feature to their browser with in-built Smart Anti-Tracking functionality. This version will automatically be set to HTTPS (rewrite HTTP links to HTTPS) by default and use CNAME Cloaking to improve detection and block third-party.
How to copy text from the image on Samsung Internet
The text capture feature allows the extraction of text directly from an image and can be copied to a clipboard. Samsung Fold received more sophisticated tools and URL bar options.
- Launch Samsung Internet Browser.
- Head over to the page from which you want to extract the text.
- Long-press on the image, and it pops up a context menu.
- At the bottom, you can find Extract Text; tap on it.
- That’s it!
Note: To use this feature, your device should run on One UI 4.1.1 or higher on a Samsung device.
On top of this, there is another feature introduced with V18—open links from any apps in privileged mode. You can enable this from browser settings by navigating to Settings > Personal browsing data > Secret mode settings > Open links from other apps in Secret mode.
Samsung Internet Browser Beta V18 is based on Chromium Framework v99, and a stable version is expected to receive this feature. You can download and update Samsung Internet Browser Beta from the Google Play Store or the Galaxy Store.
